NELSON MANDELA BAY 24/7 PRAYER INITIATIVE
We have much pleasure in announcing the completion of our own NM Bay 24/7 prayer pamphlet. It is our vision that this prayer pamphlet will be distributed to as many church and non-church going people as possible in order to unite our whole Metropole and make NM Bay a “House of Prayer” (Is. 56: 7).
This pamphlet is available to all churches, businesses, schools, government departments, prisons and community organizations. It can be found on the TCN and PE Church Net websites. We would like to encourage all churches to post this pamphlet on their individual websites. In addition, where necessary, we will fax it and it will also be available in hard copy from the TCN office. The idea being that each recipient would make copies to distribute to their members.
The pamphlet is designed and distributed as part of the NM Bay 24/7 prayer initiative, the idea being that different churches and workplace groups will take different days each month to host 24/7 prayer meetings. We aim to get every day of the year covered in prayer.
There are a number of options:
1. Get your group to organize a weekly or monthly 24hour Prayer Meeting using the pamphlet as the basis for prayer.
2. Let your group form a chain of one-hour prayer slots lasting any time up to 24 hours. This chain could take place daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
3. This chain of prayer can be held at a set venue or the individuals could choose their place of prayer e.g. home, work, school etc.
4. It would be strongly suggested that the church leader choose a responsible co- ordinator that will constantly remind and encourage the participants to pray. Phone calls or smses could be used for this purpose.
TCN, as part of this launch, will utilize the contents of this pamphlet for its weekly radio program and newspaper columns. The 2008 Global Day of Prayer program will be based on the 24/7 pamphlet. We aim to use the GDOP on Sunday, 11 May 2008 as the completion date of the official launch of this 24/7 prayer initiative.
Any church or workplace group that would like to participate in this initiative is invited to complete the registration form below which is also obtainable from the TCN website or office. This is so that the prayer coverage can be monitored.
The 12 weeks leading up to the GDOP is being used to launch the prayer initiative utilizing one of the 12 prayer themes for each week.
Churches must please feel free to customize the pamphlet with their own heading, church/workplace logo and even content if they so desire.
